Dr. Alison D’Andelet grew up in Frederick, MD and attended high school at St. John’s at Prospect Hall. She attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County where she received a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and minors in Literature and Anthropology. She then continued her education at Des Moines University in Des Moines, IA, where she received her doctorate and a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration in 2015. During school, she was a member of the Pi Delta National Honor Society, Editor-in-Chief of the college newsletter, and an active leader in other student groups. Dr. D’Andelet completed her residency at Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Hospital in Binghamton, NY, where she was trained by world-renowned podiatric foot and ankle surgeon, Dr. Guido LaPorta. During her residency she had extensive exposure to pediatrics, sports medicine, foot and ankle reconstruction, and diabetic limb salvage. She also did a rotation at Sinai Hospital’s Rubin Institute of Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, MD, learning advanced foot and ankle reconstruction techniques.
During her time in residency, she was active in publishing case studies and papers about wound care, the diabetic Charcot foot, and surgical planning. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family. She also enjoys running and doing yoga. She is excited to join Dr. Schultheiss at Harford Lower Extremity Specialists so she can continue to work with patients of all ages to keep their feet healthy.
