Dr. Tsuji trained at the University of Hawaii, Hilo, and University of Hawaii, Manoa campuses where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, and Master’s in Biochemistry. He moved from the tropics to the cold of Illinois where he received his Doctorate of Medicine at the Chicago Medical School. Longing for warmer climate, he entered the Naval Service and was stationed at San Diego Medical Center for his surgical internship. In the Navy, Lieutenant Commander Tsuji was the Medical Officer on USS Acadia, Senior Medical Officer on USS Fort McHenry, and the Head of Sports Medicine at Navy Boot Camp back in North Chicago. After leaving the Navy he finished a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at Sinai & Johns Hopkins before returning to milder climates. On the Big Island of Hawaii he completed an Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Tsuji is Board Certified in Pain Medicine. He has practiced at Sinai since 2003, is the Division Chief of Interventional Pain Medicine at Northwest Hospital, and has practiced with Brain & Spine Specialists, P.A. since 2010.
